Lightning and Force.com Platform

The most popular, fastest growing cloud platform in the world.

Why we chose Salesforce

Salesforce’s vast resources mean issues like future-proofing, robustness, scalability and security are addressed with considerably more means than we would otherwise be able to muster. This allows us to focus on the important business of delivering a great HR & Payroll product and experience for our customers and their employees.

Database

Salesforce provides a highly scalable, transactional database with a fantastic user-extensible structure. The database is secure, providing the option to encrypt data at rest, and is located in data centers around the world, so you don’t need to worry about data sovereignty.

APIs

Everything in the Salesforce database is delivered through APIs; from the data in the system of record, to the meta data that defines your configuration and layout – all open and extensible.

Artificial Intelligence

Leveraging Salesforce’s investment in the Einstein AI and Analytics platform, the XCD developer team is currently working on a number of exciting projects implementing machine learning and natural language processing.

Easy, No-Code Development

The Salesforce development platform provides a series of “no-code” development tools, which allow XCD customers to add to or extend the functionality of the application to suit their changing business requirements – lowering total cost of ownership.

Native Development

The platform also provides the ability to code in Salesforce’s native programming language where required, using combination of tools, like Apex, VisualForce and Lightning Components.

XCD developers make use of these where we need to do complex things in the application – one example is our payroll calculation engine.

Lifecycle

We have a well-designed Software Development Lifecycle geared around Salesforce DX (the sophisticated Salesforce development environment), GIT (for our Source Code control) and a host of other applications in our toolchain to deliver Continuous Integration (CI) Automated Builds, Smoke Testing, Test Automation and Release Management.

If you would like more detail on any of the above, please get in touch – our ‘Geek Team’ would love to talk to you about what we do and how we do it.
