With news that the government plans to launch a review into the upcoming changes to IR35 off payroll working rules, two of our experts examine what Payrollers need to know about the controversial reform.
On 7 January, Treasury’s Financial Secretary Jesse Norman admitted that concerns had been raised about the reforms and said that the review would consider whether further steps were required to ensure its smooth implementation.
There is no indication that the change will be delayed or aborted. Read more about the Treasury review on Personnel Today.
The change is still scheduled to come into force on 6 April, after which, responsibility for determining the status of contractors will shift from the individual to the private sector company enlisting their services.
