Salesforce.com, platform provider for XCD, today announced it has opened its first European Data Centre, located in the U.K.
This is the first of three Data Centres planned for Europe to support the company and its partner's growing base of customers in the region.
It is powered by 100 percent renewable energy sources, supporting Salesforce.com's sustainability goals.
"The opening of Salesforce's first European Data Centre underscores our commitment to customers and partners in the U.K.," said Andrew Lawson, SVP for U.K. and Ireland, Salesforce. "The new data centre will support the unprecedented growth we've seen in the region and further accelerates the adoption of cloud, social and mobile technologies, empowering U.K. companies to connect with their customers in a whole new way."
As companies globally have transitioned to cloud computing, the way has been paved for new and exciting technologies supporting core business functions such as HR.
This has driven remarkable growth in spending on cloud computing technologies across Europe, which now represents Salesforce.com's fastest growing region.
